Duke Photography

I have to say, we were a little more than excited when Duke Photography reached out to us to enter the dark room and reproduce the newly branded Duke University stock photography website.

The mission:

bring some modern and fresh design elements to the previous, challenging to navigate, all-black site
improve the user interface for searching, purchasing, and downloading their favorite images—utilizing Duke’s Net ID system
bring a little relief to the Duke staff in charge of managing the immense amount of images they maintain
just make life a little more wonderful

After a round of user interface and design volleys, we were off to the coding room where we intricately weaved the Duke Net ID login system within our home grown Ruby on Rails programming fiesta of wonder. The search bar functionality was greatly improved by providing an inline advanced search.

In the end, OnWired delivered a highly usable, and well received, website.
