Greg Williams, Director of Operations
Greg was born into the world a rebellious artist without a cause. Early mastery with Crayola & Papermate led him to brush and canvas at the ripe age of 9 where he continued this passion until computers took over his world in his 20s. Then, as both Vader and Sauron before him, he betrayed and murdered his inner artist to pursue his dream to hold dominion over all life.
A lunatic nomad, he skipped around the eastern seaboard until he finally settled in North Carolina where he earned a degree in 2001 from NC State University as a formally trained computer scientist.
His post-collegiate career began in an e-commerce start-up during the throes of the dot com bomb. Relying mainly on his unnatural charisma and mad Oracle/Java/JSP and Web UI skills, he managed to survive the crash unscathed. But this experience set him on a radically different course. Like a cold-blooded gangsta, he turned his back on the interwebs and joined a global Fortune 500 company. While there, he developed global partnerships in such exotic locales as Brazil, Colombia, Germany, India, Mexico, and Canada. Yes, Canada. That’s where the Reindeer live and Santa has good taste. Anyway, during this stint he successfully led teams governing IT compliance for both North and South America.
But life under the bone crushing depths of cold corporate politics, thick red tape, and compartmentalized specialization left his entrepreneurial spirit wilting. He found external consulting opportunities which, one glorious evening, led him to OnWired in late 2009.
Finally reunited with his distant past, Greg brings over 17 years of IT experience, 6 years of management and business consulting, and a lifetime of art and design to the OnWired team.
And not to worry — true to himself, he continues his pursuit of global domination using OnWired as a front for ongoing subversive operations.
